Music is creative communication between the composer, arranger, musicians and the audience. It is a conversation about life, with all its ingredients of strong emotions, humour, joy, excitement, beauty, romance, surprise, curiosity, experience, questions and answers and those things to which there are no answers. Jazz music must also contain dynamics, energy and above all it has to swing in order to be interesting and contrasting. Tone and sound are important ingredients in all music, not least in the case of Jazz. I have always tested and experimented with instruments, mutes and even electronic devices to obtain the tone colours that I hear inside me.
